Water Tank Cleaning

Perhaps we are not aware but more than 70% of diseases caused to humanity are water borne diseases, numerous types of bacteria can be present in water, including the potentially fatal legionella. Neglected Sump & Overhead Tanks are extremely high-risk areas for the spread of disease, as bacteria proliferates in contaminated or stagnant conditions. Water storage tanks must be kept clean to prevent sludging, sediment and scale all of which provide favourable conditions in which legionella bacteria can grow.

We will chemically clean and disinfect your tank / tanks and remove all of the above and almost all of the staining inside the tank. Wastewater is discharged only after the required standards are met.

Neglected Sump & Overhead Tanks are extremely high-risk areas for the spread of disease, as bacteria proliferates in contaminated or stagnant conditions. You would not drink out of the same glass for years without washing it, why treat your water tank any differently. Out of sight out of mind is not a good attitude when it comes to your water storage. When you are on tank water the quality of your water is totally dependant on you.

What is Legionella/Legionnaires Disease?

A progressive and potentially fatal atypical pneumonia caused by the inhalation of water aerosols containing Legionella bacteria, deep into the lung. The onset is relatively abrupt with high fever, a membrane covering the lungs (pleurisy) etc, and in some cases death. Legionella bacteria form in hot and cold water systems such as plumbing, shower heads, water storage tanks and cooling towers.

Five facts about legionellosis:

  • Legionnaires’ disease was first identified following a large outbreak of pneumonia among people attending an American Legion Convention in Philadelphia, 1976.
  • The incubation period is between 2-10 days (usually 3-6 days).
  • Infection with Legionella bacteria can be fatal in approximately 12% of reported cases.
  • Symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease include high fever, chills, headaches, muscle pain and difficulty with breathing.
  • To date approximately 40 species of the Legionella bacterium have been identified.

Examples of systems that present a risk:

  • Cooling towers
  • Evaporative condensers
  • Hot and cold water systems
  • Humidifiers
  • Spa baths

The above is not an exhaustive list; any water system where water droplets may be created can present a risk from Legionella.

Method Cleaning of Water Tank

  1. We come to the destination on a decided time sharp with our enriched team which have following skills:
    • Audio visually trained
    • Fully Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) equipped & armed with Hygienic latest cleaning equipment.
  1. Begins with removal of stale water with mono block pump for speedy work. (Note: For this we required single phase power supply point on site).
  1. After removal water, members enter into the tank with their PPE viz. hand gloves, helmet, apron, safety shoes etc. And blocked the connection or outlet with cork. Thus , we take care so that no germs will be carried by from our team member .
  1. Perform “RUBBISH DIRT WASH” in this we remove all the dirt, sand, soil, sludge with brushes & high pressure cleaning scrubber.
  1. Again we absorb the waste water from the water tank & then wash with clean water.
  1. The Rubbish Dirt Wash process will remove all the germs, fungus, patches, bacteria etc. For this purpose we use specially bleaching chemical for BETTER QUALITY.
  1. After this again clean the tank with fresh water to remove bleaching chemical properly
  1. CHEMICAL WASH successed BLEACHING WASH, which ensure you for long term freedom from smell & germs. In this method we apply some chemical spray which is specially made for water purification and approved by recognized health organizations.
  1. After chemical wash we apply some specific amount of heat to the tank for drying. This heating will give better ageing till future process.
  1. Lastly, we remove all the corks & fill the tank with fresh water.
  1. In complete water cleaning process, we don’t require any help, we are equipe with all necessities, except power supply.
  2. After Completion paste our logo, reminder which we will be pasted on a front side with date of processing and next processing due.
